Hi Readers,I’m taking a break from our regular guest writer deep dives to highlight community resources for job seekers. This is an open invitation to use the community if you were affected by tech layoffs, or struggling professionally for other reasons. I’ll discuss our new talent collective, job board, and Slack opportunities. Talent Collective
The community has invested in more job seeker support by launching its own Palett talent collective.
You're invited to join as a community member:
Who is it for?
The collective is for growth designers open to conversations or actively interviewing.
There are roles for leaders, generalists, and specialists such as content designers.
How does it work?
To join, you add a minimum amount of data; no need to recreate your resume. Your latest role and LinkedIn profile is sufficient.
I publish a talent drop that notifies employers.
Based on this profile, employers request an intro with you that you can accept or reject.
Participants are not publicly viewable, and you have settings to prevent you from outing yourself to your current employer.
Why join?
Employers have paid money to get access to the talent collective members. So they’re motivated to reach out.
Get endorsed. I will personally endorse each collective member by adding a note to each profile about why I think you’re awesome (because I guarantee you are!)
Job Board + Slack
I've also revamped the jobs board. I automatically post any jobs that are submitted by the community in the #Jobs channel in our Slack. Palett also suggests roles that are relevant. Finally, employers can feature jobs.The #Jobs channel in our Slack community is a great place to see roles and message directly with hiring managers. We also feature roles on LinkedIn.
